As you almost certainly don’t need reminding, the tax return season has just ended (phew).
It’s a busy time of the year for us at CEJ, which led Bryan to put his favourite thinking cap on to come up with a way to say thank-you to the rest of the team for their tireless work during January.
He came up with the idea of a darts room. Yes, you read that right. A darts room.
Helping every last one of our clients save as much money as they possibly can is a taxing business (no pun intended). Bryan thought that the room would not only be somewhere he, Jo and Ben could chill out during their breaks, saving them a fortune in cappuccinos from visits to West Kirby’s huge array of coffee houses, but might also serve as a place to brainstorm in.
So he set business development manager Ben on the case and, before you could say “step up to the oche”, one of the side rooms had been converted with artificial grass, wooden panels on the wall and, best of all, a CEJ-branded board.
The team have started referring to it as their very own R&D room – only this time R&D doesn’t stand for Research and Development but Rum and Darts. Without the rum, of course.
They’re all working on darts nicknames as we speak – feel free to make your own suggestions on our Facebook page (but keep it clean!) – and there are plans being hatched to start a Banks Road Darts league or even take on other accountants in the area.
For us the bottom line will always be your bottom line but we hope you’ll agree that a rested and relaxed team is more likely to save you money than a stressed out one. And if you’re ever in the area, don’t hesitate to pop in for a quick game…
