POSSIBLY inspired by Ben’s coastguard escapades and Jo’s endless cycling, Bryan went all Bear Grylls on us recently.
Mr J travelled to North Wales to go white water rafting with six friends, taking on Bala’s challenging Afon Tryweryn, and returned intact (as far as we can tell) having chalked up one notable achievement: he didn’t fall out.
All this despite never before having kayaked, but having taken windsurfing on West Kirby’s marine lake he felt confident.
Ben, fresh from rescuing passengers from a sinking ferry in Eastham, was all primed to ride to the rescue at a moment’s notice but, astoundingly, wasn’t needed once.
We’re calling it a minor miracle. Bryan, meanwhile, is making noises about forming a CEJ Contractor Accountants Coxless Four team…
