The commitments of the staff at CEJ go deep into the local community. Over the past couple of weeks Ben has been working as part of the backstage crew for a local amateur dramatic societies outdoor production of 'Much A Do About Nothing'.
With week one taking up over 70 hours to prepare the site and build the set, this was a mammoth undertaking that wielded some fantastic results. Only the high level of commitment from Ben and his colleagues for the week could produce such an amazing outcome.
Week two was a smaller impact on time. Acting as an assistant stage manager. Ben found himself sat in woods behind the set and stands being eaten alive by mosquitos and other little creatures while trying to ensure the actors were ready to go on stage.
All in all, it was a very rewarding experience, which in two years time when the next production comes round he will be very well prepared with bug spray in hand.
